Cascina Dulcamara's organic walnuts are grown in an area surrounded by the woods of the Ticino Park. The trees were planted in 1993 and, thanks to organic farming methods, have grown into magnificent trees with excellent fruit.
The ground is completely covered with grass and full of different plants that are eaten by many wild animals. The farm's beehives are also located in these lands, which is a testimony to the health of the area.
The variety of walnut grown is the Franquette, considered the best variety of French walnut due to the excellent quality of the fruit, descended from that of Sorrento. It was imported to France where it adapted to the harsher climate of the Grenoble region.
It is medium in size, with a slightly elongated and pointed shape. Its skin is rather hard. Its seed is clear and has a delicate flavour with a hint of hazelnut.
Growing area : Ticino (province of Novara)
Our organic Franquette nuts are characterised by
- Absence of chemical residues and mycotoxins.
- Harvested at the right moment of ripeness (no unripe fruit).
- Completely natural drying to preserve the precious oil contained in the fruit, naturally rich in Omega 3 and Omega 6.
- In shell, which protects the kernel from oxidation and preserves its properties for a long time.
- Walnut shells NOT bleached with chemicals.
