Authenticity and tradition
These organic sesame seeds are grown with passion and respect for nature in the countryside of Ispica (Sicily), an ideal area for this precious crop. The farm is committed to preserving an authentic, high-quality product, certified by the Slow Food Presidium, without the use of chemicals and with full respect for the environment.
From seed to harvest
- Sowing (May): Takes place on unspoiled land, far from intensive agriculture.
- Natural growth: Each plant reaches approximately 200cm and produces up to 150 seed capsules.
- Open air drying: A natural method of preserving properties and flavour.
- Manual harvest (September): A traditional process that ensures the highest quality.
- Artisanal processing: The seeds are extracted by beating and cleaned with special sieves.
A nutritious superfood
Unlike roasted sesame seeds, these raw sesame seeds retain all of their nutritional properties:
- A natural source of vitamins (B1, B2, B3) and carotene.
- Rich in essential minerals: Calcium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Selenium, Iron and Zinc.
- Contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.
- High in lignans (sesamin and sesamolin), powerful antioxidants that help control oxidised cholesterol.
No non-EU sesame - only pure organic sesame grown in Sicily!

Instructions
Raw sesame seeds have a nutty flavour and can be used in many ways:
Breakfast & Snacks
- with natural yogurt or
- Serve with fresh fruit and you may want to sweeten it with a drop of TheHoneyland organic honey.
They can be added to salads (wakame seaweed salad is famous in the East) or soups. They are also excellent with rice.
They are very versatile and can be used to make sesame cream, protein bars or to flavour bread and rolls.
Storage : Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, we recommend keeping the seeds in a tightly closed jar in the fridge.
