
Description
Condiment made from sesame seeds and spices, Za'atar (or Zahatar) is widely used in Middle Eastern cuisine, being renowned for its beneficial properties.
We bring you a 100% organic Sicilian Za'atar of artisanal production and with excellent ingredients for a blend of organic spices all coming from Cave d'Ispica , in the Iblean plateau in Sicily, whose preparation includes:
- Ispica sesame,
- aromatic herbs of thyme and oregano,
- wild fennel seeds,
- sumac e
- sea salt from Trapani.
This precious condiment contains the benefits of many spices dried at low temperatures and which retain numerous nutraceutical properties:
- our Italian organic sesame seeds are a precious source of minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium and selenium) and antioxidants
- Thyme is recognized as having antibacterial and digestive properties.
- sumac has a strong antioxidant action.
- Fennel seeds are digestive and carminative.

Instructions
Za'atar is an extremely versatile condiment in the kitchen, it can be used to replace traditional salt both raw and for cooking:
- to season salads, pizzas, bruschetta, pasta, sauces and vegetable soups and to enrich bread and focaccia doughs.
- It can also be used on white and red meats, eggs, vegetables and potatoes.
- It pairs perfectly with extra virgin olive oil.
