Description
This organic arbutus honey (maquis d'automne) is produced by our beekeeper Marlène Hahusseau in one of the wildest and most unspoilt areas of Corsica, Cap Corse.
Corsican Arbutus AOP honey
AOP - 'Appellation d'origine protégée' corresponds to the PDO certification in Italy - here in Cap Corse, strawberry tree honey is harvested in November and December in one of the wildest corners of the island, far from all sources of agricultural and industrial pollution.
Honey characteristics
The bitter arbutus honey of Cap Corse is an integral part of the typical flavours of Corsica with hints of ivy, sarsaparilla and viscous inula flowering concomitantly.
It is a typical arbutus honey, light amber in colour, bitter and strong in the mouth. Its bitterness and woody smell make it a very special honey.
Bee Local Corsa AOP
Only the local Corsican bee is used for production, which is preserved with great care by strict local laws.

an artisanal honey that in addition to the AOP is produced according to TheHoneyland code of ethics for organic beekeeping and obtained without the use of chemical treatments.
