Description

Forest honeydew collected by Luca Bonizzoni who places his hives inside the Ticino Natural Park .

It is the oldest regional park in Italy, established in 1974. The park is located south of Lake Maggiore and the landscape is characterized by the river and its valley, which constitute a natural heritage of great importance and beauty.

From Lake Maggiore the Ticino flows through predominantly oak woods and wetlands of particular naturalistic value, fed by the clear waters of the fountains. The forest environments present in the protected area also include willow groves, poplar groves, chestnut groves and Scots pine pine forests .

In this particular environment the bees produce a honeydew honey rich in mineral salts.

The honeydew honey from the Ticino Park is dense , viscous and non-crystallised.

Luca Bonizzoni's honeydew honey is produced using organic beekeeping methods Not pasteurized . It is raw honey that has not undergone any heat treatment.
