TheBallot-Flurin honey farmwas born in1976in the heart of thePyrenees, southwestern France, when a young student decided to become a beekeeper. Since thenCatherine Ballot-Flurinhas been recognized as thepioneer of organic beekeepingin France. Its honeys and other beehive products were the first in France to receive organic certification in 1982.
From the beginning Catherine has adopted an approach based on respect for the well-being of the bees and their natural biological cycles by developing a method calledApicultura DOUCE®. Douce® Apiculture takes into account the solar, lunar and cosmic cycles in managing the bee colony and in deciding the right moment in which the beekeeper will collect the products from the hive.
