Description
Solmielato Organic Bergamot Honey: A Unique Treasure from Calabria's "Temperate Tropical Humid" Microclimate.
In the Ionian and Tyrrhenian coasts of the province of Reggio Calabria, lies a unique "temperate tropical humid" microclimate, where bergamot citrus thrives like nowhere else in the world. This is why Reggio Calabria's organic bergamot is also known as "Green Gold."
During the month of May, Solmielato Apiculture strategically positions its beehives in this breathtaking coastal territory to gather the nectar from the blossoms of this precious citrus fruit, giving life to a unique and creamy honey with a delicately sweet flavor.
An intriguing variant compared to the more classic citrus honeys like orange and lemon, Solmielato's bergamot honey undergoes a guided crystallization process and is then stored at an optimal temperature of 12°C. This meticulous approach preserves all the organoleptic characteristics and imparts a creamy consistency and an incomparable floral fragrance.
Organoleptic Characteristics:
- Texture: Spontaneous crystallization with very fine crystals.
- Color: In its liquid state, it is almost colorless or straw yellow; when crystallized, it is pearly white or light beige.
- Taste: Typically sweet, fine, and creamy.
- Aroma: Delicate with a slight fragrance of bergamot flowers.
Solmielato's bergamot honey is unpasteurized, undergoes no heat treatment, and is produced using organic beekeeping methods.
