Basil is widely used in the kitchen, in many recipes of the Mediterranean diet including the famous Genoese pesto.
Very good to add in tomato sauce as well as on pizza.
However, the best way to exploit its nutritional properties is in "raw" recipes as the nutrients are very delicate and deteriorate easily with heat:
Salads, soups and stews.
Basil flavored oil. With quality organic extra virgin olive oil.
Basil herbal tea: half a teaspoon of dried basil for 200 ml of 85-90° water. Leave to infuse for 10-12 minutes and serve immediately.
It has an excellent digestive function .
Storage : keep in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
Packaging disposal : Cellophane is biodegradable.
