High quality Organic Long jing green tea, also known in the West as "Dragon's Well". Long Jing is the green tea most loved by the Chinese, one of the oldest and most renowned teas, known since the Ming era.
In addition to the historic Xi Hu area around Hangzhou's West Lake, there are now many places in Zhejiang where Long Jing tea is produced. In fact, many production areas are close to cities, which increases the risk of heavy metal contamination from vehicles and industrial areas.
This Long Jing comes from the Qian Dao Hu district of Chun'an County, an area adjacent to the more famous Xi Hu. Qian Dao (Lake of 1000 Islands) is a famous tourist resort surrounded by high mountains, known for its enchanting scenery and far from pollution.
Here, as in the Xi Hu area, the cold and humid climate, the rocky mountains, the acidic soil and the wide range of temperatures create the best conditions for growing good quality tea.
Qian Dao is one of the few high quality organic Long Jing teas in China. This tea comes from small farmers who still follow old traditions: from growing the tea (without chemical fertilisers and herbicides) to plucking and processing it by hand.
This is an authentic unblended Long Jing.
