
Description
Very rare and difficult to produce, this high mountain rhododendron honey, known as "the gold of the Dolomites", is a small natural treasure.
It is collected exclusively from wild rhododendron flowers at 1900 metres above sea level. It requires all the experience of our beekeeper Renato Panciera, who places the hives in the most sunny areas. One of the highest altitude rhododendron honeys in Italy, which will make you travel to the high peaks of these beautiful mountains.
Its aroma is light and pleasant, the flavour Sweet And fruity , with hints of white flowers and snow.
Characteristics :
Smell : delicate and floral, with notes of alpine herbs.
Taste : sweet, delicate, vegetal, slightly fruity.
Physical state : it generally crystallizes quickly with fine crystals and is therefore very soft. Its color is light amber with light straw yellow reflections.
The color of the new production is light amber, it tends to crystallize with fine crystals and when crystallized the color becomes lighter.
ARTISAN ORGANIC Quality:
This rhododendron honey is raw and is produced according to organic beekeeping methods. It is not pasteurized , extracted by cold centrifugation and has not undergone any heat treatment.
Our beekeeper cares for his bees as if they were his family and is committed to the conservation of the native Carnica honey bee species .

Pairings :
- Excellent as table honey on homemade wholemeal bread as eaten in Val d'Aosta: with good mountain bread buttered with rare mountain butter.
- With cheeses with structured aromas, like many cheeses produced in the Alps.
- With organic Parmigiano Reggiano DOP aged 22-24 months
Storage : store in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources.
