Welcome to the authentic taste of Sicily, with our exclusive Organic Sesame Nougat , known locally as " Giuggiulena ". It is typical of the Ragusano area.
Giuggiulena, also called Cubaita in the Palermo area, has an ancient history, to be found in the Arab influences in Sicily and is a recipe that is handed down from generation to generation and our producer Vincenzo Barone is still the custodian of this artisanal preparation method today.
Preparation : after toasting the seeds, the nougat is worked while still hot on marble shelves with a rolling pin until it reaches the right thickness and finally cut, all still by hand.

A curiosity, Giuggiulena was one of the favorite desserts of the great writer Andrea Camilleri, so much so that he wrote a eulogy about it.
