PREMIUM grade 1st harvest organic Tennen Gyokuro green tea , obtained exclusively from the cultivated tea gardens of the Hayashi Family , in the Kirishima Mountains (Kyushu island).
When a tea is described as a tennen gyokuro it is believed to have the same organoleptic characteristics as the gyokuro traditionally produced in Japan: extremely sweet and with a lot of umami. In fact, these properties are almost absent in industrial gyokuro teas.
While most commercial teas obtain an intense aroma thanks to chemical fertilizers , the Tennen Gyokuro Asatsuyu variety is a high-quality signature tea, among the rarest in Japan, produced in an absolutely natural way and without pesticides .
Both the highly prized Asatsuyu cultivar and the very careful production method of the Hayashi family result in a gyokuro tea with very high levels of L-theanine .
Infusion after infusion, this gyokuro remains very sweet, powerful and rich in umami, while slightly fresher aromas are perceived: there is always a slightly acidic fruity presence.
Packaged in an elegant satin white cardboard envelope, which also makes it ideal for an exclusive gift.
FEATURES :
Needle-like leaves : cared for with extreme care to maintain their intact shape. Intense dark green color indicating the presence of chlorophyll.
Infused color: it turns out an intense green tea, its flavor incredibly deep and sweet, even with the second and third infusion - a real wonder!
Aroma: pronounced umami taste
Taste : Its silky and deep marine scent remains long in the mouth with citrus notes as a finishing touch.
TEA CULTIVAR ASATSUYU:
Unlike most Gyokuro teas which are simply shaded teas ("Kabusecha"), this fine tea is produced exclusively with leaves of the "Asatsuyu cultivar". It is not a hybrid or cloned plant, but a pure cultivar that dates back to 1953 .
The Asatsuyu cultivar is known in the tea world for being a type of natural gyokuro, because its leaves are delicate, tender and very sweet. It has a vivid green liquor and deep umami, even when not shade-grown.
Organic rare Asatsuyu cultivar. This fascinating variety of tea is very sensitive because insects, which love the sweetness of the leaves, can easily ruin them. In fact, in conventional plantations the plants are treated with many pesticides. In the biological variant it is very rare and it is found only in a very few gardens throughout Japan.

Gyokuro Tennen green tea is produced exclusively with the best carefully selected organic leaves of the 1st harvest .
