Organic cultivation in Protected Area :

The cultivation is located in the small center of Serra (Valencia Community in Spain), immersed in the Natural Park and which has become a protected area since 2002.

Organic certification is not always a guarantee of purity, in fact numerous reports in recent years have shown that organic spirulina coming from third countries can cause health problems, whether due to contamination by pesticides, microcystins, heavy metals or PAHs.

EU certified organic . The Honeyland spirulina is grown without pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. Only monocultures in tanks protected by glass greenhouses and strictly monitored - not outdoors like those in industrial plants in India and China.

Growing medium : Spirulina is like a sponge that has the ability to absorb all environmental pollutants. For this we chose a cultivated spirulina far from any form of agricultural and industrial pollution , a very important factor for obtaining pure and contamination-free spirulina.

Only pure spring water from the Natural Park is used which has a high mineral content, which is very important for the cultivation of spirulina.

Natural cultivation:

Natural method: in sunlight without using photobioreactors. For this reason the production period begins in May and ends in October.

All selected cultivation materials are suitable for contact with food.

Craftsmanship:

Manual harvest in the early morning , when its content of active ingredients is at its maximum and processing takes place in a short time.

Drying : delicate at low temperature (< 39°C) to respect its exceptional nutritional composition. In this way we obtain a spirulina of the highest quality and unique freshness.

Freshness : production in small batches to always have it at maximum freshness, unlike industrial spirulina which arrives on store shelves after several months of transport and storage.
