Description

Summer honey from the High Valleys of Corsica , among the finest French honeys. For the collection of his AOP organic summer honey ( Miel de maquis d'été ), our beekeeper Patrick takes his bees strictly of the native Corsican breed to the high valleys around Monte Cinto , the highest mountain in Corsica with its 2,706 mt.

It is harvested in July and August in the high mountains, in a wild and uncontaminated setting. We are inside the Corso Regional Natural Park , far from agricultural and urban activities.

It has a unique and varied flora and for this reason it is one of the most sought after and appreciated honeys. The main flowers present are Corsican wild thyme (erba barona), camedrio , montana vulneraria (anthyllis), wild blackberry and helichrysum .

It is a light amber colored honey, with a floral , fruity and aromatic flavour.

Miel de Corse AOP (Appellation d'origine protégée which corresponds to our PDO). For production, only the local Corsican bee is used and is preserved with great care by strict local laws.

Production method : an artisanal honey which in addition to the AOP is produced following organic beekeeping methods: obtained without the use of chemical treatments.

Honey not subjected to heat treatments , with great nutritional value.
