Description
Discover High Mountain Rhododendron Honey, harvested exclusively from wild rhododendron flowers and other high-altitude flowers in the Pyrenees, at 1800 metres above sea level. Here the clean air, vast forests and unspoilt nature create the perfect environment for the production of this exquisite honey.
Unique characteristics
This honey is extremely rare and difficult to produce, requiring the expertise of Jerome Sarre, who strategically places the beehives in the sunniest areas. It is one of the highest altitude rhododendron honeys in Europe, offering a taste of the breathtaking peaks of these majestic mountains.
Aroma and flavour:
Aroma: Delicate and floral, with notes of alpine herbs.
Flavour: Sweet, intense and round, with a slight fruity and woody undertone.
Colour: Light amber with pale yellow reflections.
Crystallisation: Rapid crystallisation with fine crystals that give the honey a smooth texture. As it crystallizes, the colour becomes lighter.
Awards
This rhododendron honey has won numerous awards, including gold and silver medals at prestigious French competitions such as the "Concours Général Agricole" in Paris.
Organic production
This honey is raw and produced according to organic beekeeping methods. It is unpasteurised and cold-extracted by centrifugation, without any heat treatment, thus preserving all its natural properties.
