Shutaro Hayashi is part of the fifth generation of tea producers, which began in 1897 at the foot of the KIRISHIMA Mountains on the island of Kyushu. Most of the tea gardens are located in a large area completely surrounded by forest.
In addition to Yabukita, the most popular variety of tea in Japan, special varieties are also grown (eg Asatsuyu, Kanaya Midori and Zairaishu).
The freshly picked leaves are processed in a very short time on the family farm located in a central area among the small tea crops. This ensures a high quality tea without any trace of oxidation.
In the family tradition of obtaining excellent quality tea, Shutaro is always experimenting with new methods of processing tea leaves: steaming times, temperatures, drying, etc.
