Located in Piedmont, in a small town on thehills of the Powho enjoys afavorable microclimateto the cultivation of the Tonda Gentile trilobata IGP hazelnut, the Apenocciola farmis a small reality afamily runwhich follows the method ofbiodynamic cultivationwith a particular attention to biodiversity. The company was born from the passion of its owner Giulio Moiraghi who together with his wife Daisy decided in 2014 to take over and renovate a historic hazelnut grove with50/60 yearsof age.
A great love for Nature, respecting its rhythms and needs, without copper (allowed in the biological specification). Only biodynamic preparations are used in order to protect thefertility and vitality of the earth which is monitored with the techniques of sensitive crystallization and circular chromatography.
The hazelnut grove where bees also thrive.It is the only hazelnut grove where, in addition to hazelnuts, we find legumes, cruciferous plants, pasture plants in order to compensate for the exploitation of the landincreasing biodiversity . And in fact the bees forage during the spring / summer by collecting some honeydew from the hazelnut plants and the nectar from the flowers and other plants present. And in addition to honey they also produce aorganic beeswaxpure and free of any chemical residue which is then used in the production of hazelnut oil-based cosmetics.
All products are processed internally using only raw materials (hazelnuts, honey, beeswax) from the farm.
